A skin-contact orange wine from 100% Portland grapes grown in Tokito — a new vintage of a much-loved release. The gentle tannic bitterness of skin fermentation and a fruity aroma make it a natural partner for Italian and other Western dishes.
Product Description
Only about one tonne of Portland is harvested in Tokito each year, so the winery decides the style vintage by vintage — dry some years, sweet in others. This 2024 is dry: clean and not too austere, recommended with herb- and garlic-forward meat dishes. Tartrate crystals may form in the bottle; enjoy them or wait for them to dissolve.

Tokito 鴇
Winery Konohana is a small winery in the Tokito district of Kosaka Town, Kazuno, located within the local shopping district of Hanawa itself. Working with Japanese wild-grape (yamabudo) hybrid varieties, it produces roughly 10,000 bottles a year, almost entirely by hand, without oak barrels — a natural-wine philosophy built around expressing the character of the land as directly as possible. The winery also produces cider from local apples.
