About Craft Beer

Small brewery, big passion.

The passion behind Akita craft beer

Right now, Akita's craft beer story starts with one brewery on the rugged Oga coast — bottled in wine-style 750ml bottles instead of the usual can or stubby. It's a small, deliberate choice: less about drinking fast, more about drinking well. As more independent brewers join, expect the same philosophy — flavor over volume, character over convention.

Each beer in the lineup leans on a house technique — lactic fermentation — paired with ingredients pulled straight from the Oga peninsula itself: locally harvested sea salt, rosehip, five different hop varieties. Every label is even named after a local landmark, a small in-joke for anyone who knows the coastline. It's beer built to be taken seriously without taking itself too seriously.
